VIDEO: PhotoPlay/ ColorPlay Wizard World Mini Album

It's fall break here where I live. So my son and I took a quick run out to southern Cal to visit my sister and her family. It was fast and fun. And done. Phew! And now I have several days left to recover before school starts again. Anyway, I promised you a video walkthrough of the Wizard World album and here it is:
Watch at YouTube HERE

If you want the album details and to see still pics you can see THIS POST.
Hope you all have a fantastic day! Thanks for visiting.

Wizard World Mini Album

I have a great little album for you today.  I was so happy to hear that PhotoPlay/ColorPlay was rereleasing the Wizard World paper collections. I missed it the first time it was released. And my son loves all things HP. (Of course I do also. Who do you think introduced him to HP in the first place?) So you can imagine it was just a matter of time before we visited Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. I have loads of pics to put in an album in addition to the ones where he dressed like the famous wizard for Halloween when he was younger.  Anyway, I'll stop talking and show you the pics. WARNING: LOTS of pics follow.

 ….yeah, I know. the quidditch rings are upside down.  {hangs head in shame}

I hand cut the tie charm to hang on the tie tag that I cut to fit the top trunk pocket. The butterbeer stein is from the ephemera pack.
The JK Rowling quote and the trunks were originally all one cut apart. I separated them. Turned the quote into a pullout and the trunks into individual pockets.
Not pictured... I found a train ticket and added it to the trunk pocket.

The key ephemera is actually white when comes out of the pack. I colored it using Wink of Stella in gold and silver.
To help strengthen the key (it's quite skinny) I layered it and the "Magical Day" piece to a piece of gold posterboard before mounting everything to the twisting pop up piece.

The glass frames and lightening bolt (under the deathly hallows charm) on the right hand page were glazed using Glossy Accents.

I created the Deathly Hallows charm using my Silhouette and gold posterboard.

The "I solemnly swear..." pull out is held in place behind the snitch ephemera piece with a magnet.

The frame ephemera piece has magnets hidden in the bottom edge to (1) hold it closed; …..
… and (2) hold the flap closed.
The glass frames a"Always" on the right hand page was glazed using Glossy Accents.
I hand cut a sock to hang on the Dobby card.

I found a terrific template for the letter and envelope at 10 Digit Design. The wax seal is a real wax seal that I created using melted wax and a Hogwarts stamp.

The lenses on the glasses in the right corner were glazed with Glossy Accents. The house banner pieces are hung on a piece of gold twine so they can be lifted out of the way. The school silhouette was mounted to gold posterboard for extra durability.

Hope you like it. I tried a different type of binding. I was worried the pages would start to fall off the disks if I took them out of the book and put them back in over and over, but so far the cardstock is holding up.

I will be submitting this book to the Mini Album Makers Challenge for October as soon as it's posted. I really like the people over there at that site. Definitely recommend their monthly challenges to participate in because any handmade book will work. Seriously.

Have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
