Cicely S'mores Kit

Hiya!
For my "sister" gift this month, I made my friend a S'mores Kit.
 To make the box, I used Silvey's Mini bag Tutorial. I had to adjust the measurements a bit because the chocolate bar measured nearly six inches long and her box would have only allowed for four and a half.
I colored Cicely {WMS-Cicely at Halloween} using some copic markers that matched the paper I used to decorate the bag. The papers came from the K&Co Halloween stack from 2011 {I think}.
Inside a tucked a Hershey chocolate bar, some graham crackers and a row of ghost Peeps inside a food-safe plastic bag tied with a bit of ribbon. The excess on the sides was folded back. The excess on top was just cut off after I tied the ribbon into place.
Then, I just used a bit of double-sided tape at the corners to hold it closed. Easy peasy!!

Foreverness

Hiya!
We had a wedding this weekend. It was out of state. Couldn't travel to it but it still occurred. So, once again I needed to send a gift card in our absence.
 I trimmed out the pocket using the same MS Punch that I used on the front of the card.
It's a bit hard to tell but I used old book pages to create a pleaed layert on the front of the card and a bit of iridescent glitter glue on the flowers and  picture of the temple. I attempted to get a picture showing the shimmer....
The temple pic was embossed and cut out using Spellbinders die as well as it's PTI gold cardstock layer. The tag was stamped using the "foreverness" stamp from WMS-Say It Loud set. "celebrate" also comes from the same stamp set. The flowers all came from the WMS-Poinsettia set. They were first stamped using PTI-Fresh Snow ink then the gray layer was added using PTI-Smokey Shadow. I think it coordinated perfectly with the PTI-Silver cardstock.

When I showed hubby, he said, "I think it's the prettiest one yet." {Whoa! Usually he just says, "that's nice" or "it's fine." Definitely did something right, huh?}

October nails

Hiya!
Happy Friday! Hope you've had a good week. My son has been home with me for fall break from school. We've been to matinees, played games, living room camping.... Lots and lots of fun! We've even been busy putting up Halloween decorations.

Then I decided I needed a new manicure to get into the spirit. Both polishes are from ICE: Hot Tamale (orange) and Black Out. It's a far cry from my usual clear or funky-french (just color on the tips) manicures but it's fun.It may even last through the weekend.

Beignets

Hiya!
Hope you're having a great weekend! Several months ago, my son and I took a trip to Disneyland. One morning we got to the park early and needed some breakfast. We decided to stop at this little jazz cafe' in Downtown Disney. We joked around that breakfast was brought to us by the letter "B" because our first meal of the day included Beignets, Bacon and Banana. {Yum!}  Well, last night The Prince and the Frog happened to be on tv. I was reminded of the yummy beignets we had eaten once upon a time and decided I needed to makes some. To keep with tradition, today's breakfast again is brought to you by the letter "B":  Beignets, berries and banana.(Sadly, no bacon... {sniff sniff})

After a bit of searching online I found THIS recipe and decided to give it a shot. Oh! I'm so happy I did. They are super yummy. Light and fluffy on the inside.
I ate mine with powdered sugar while my hubby ate his with honey (more like Indian fry bread).
