Hello friend...

Hiya!
I know I've mentioned it before about working with the teen aged girls at church. We as the leaders put together a little "sisters" activity/project so that the girls can get to know one another. Kind of along the idea of Secret Santa except it's not Christmas and it's not a secret. {wink}
The leaders are also involved so we too can get to know the girls. The idea isn't to spend money, but to find a way to let your "sister" know that you are thinking of them. The young lady whose name I drew from the hat for this month currently is not eating sweets but loves spearmint gum. So, I colored up a stamped image with some Copics and turned it into a hang-tag which I attached via a rubber band. I personalized it with a hand-written note on the back.

I think all total it cost a couple dollars and change for the gum and just my time and some scraps from my stash to create the little gift.

Hope you're having a great day!

When Life Hands You Lemons...

Hiya!
Just popping in for a quick post today. I tried some lemon cake balls this last week. OH! They were so yummy!

And they made the perfect gift for my church friends. This month's message was about service. Part of the message was a reminder that whether you believe in Blessings or Luck or Karma, good things come to us when we forget about ourselves and do things for others.
I have to admit, I'm human. Thus, human nature comes naturally. Sometimes I don't understand why I'm going through some of the challenges life is handing me. That's why I thought the tags I made fit perfectly with the gift....They read, "When life hands you lemons maybe it's so you can make lemon cakeballs for your friends."
Even thought it may not be convenient or something I want to do, it works every time. When I put others needs ahead of my own, my own problems don't seem to be so awful. Divine perspective is a wonderful thing.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day!
