A Little Note

I'm kind of an office supply geek. Yes, it's true. I could wander through the aisles of an office supply store for hours. And I've been know to get side-tracked by the items in the section at the local Biggy Mart. So, with all the school supplies being featured front-and-center in stores these days you can be sure I'm dreaming up all kinds of ways I can justify having one of everything for my very own. That being said, I created today's little gifty for my friends because honestly, I can never find something to write on when I need to jot a little reminder to myself. Who knows? Maybe they face the same dilemma.
Basically I grabbed a few supplies... I happened to have these 3x3 Post-It notes in my stash along with some cute DCWV paper that coordinated with their colors. {Thinking of conversation I could be having with my hubby... See sweetheart, I did need those fun color sticky notes. Yes I bought them three years ago without knowing what I would use them for but as they say, "Good things come to those who [purchase and] wait." Ha!}
I cut some green cardstock to 3 1/8" x 11".  Scored it to wrap around the sticky pad. Trimmed away the excess to leave a tab at one end. Folded along the score lines. Rounded the corners on the tab.
Cut my patterned paper down to 3x3 squares to add to the front and the back. Knotted some fun green ribbon for detail and for the tab to tuck under.
Voila! Three gifts in less than an hour's time. And I was able to use items I already had. Love that!

Hope you're all having a great day! Thanks for visiting.

Sweet Adelyn

A friend of mine was throwing a baby shower for her daughter this last weekend. When I asked if she had a gift registry so I could get a little something I was invited to attend. There wasn't much on her registry so I ended up purchasing a gift card so that she could purchase diapers or other necessities at a later date. And of course, I couldn't leave it at that...
 I whipped up a cute little banner for the baby's room.
 I used the baby girl clothes from the New Arrival cartridge
 Since the shirt and panties are separate pieces both on the standard layer and the shadow layers I used DesignStudio to weld the pieces together to make the Shadow layer a single piece. I also used DesignStudio to hide the flower cut out features on the shirt and on the larger flower that I cut out to layer on the shirt. The letters were all cut using Pooh Font.
Next, I scored and folded strips of paper to create coordinating skirts for each baby dress.
I clipped them all to some grey gross grain ribbon and I was done. Turned out so cute. And it was happily received. :)

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for visiting.

Playing with Polish

Summer break from school is almost over for us. My son starts school on Monday! We've had lots of fun swimming and playing with extended family over the last few weeks. I had some extra time this last week to give myself a manicure.
 I started with the light blue polish. Then added a floral all-over pattern stamp using a white polish on all of my nails. After a couple days I decided to add a bit more 'something.' I used my swimsuit as inspiration for the colors along with some inspiration from Pinterest and added some flowers to the nail of my ring finger.
Turned out cute. It would have been a little TOO much if I did every nail, but by just doing one nail I think it's fun without being over the top. And since the white-on-blue stamped pattern is so subtle it's not overwhelming either.
I hope you're having a lovely summer!
